Enclosed Public Space
The new building in the Central Park of Raychikhinsk functions as an enclosed public space. It houses a café that can be transformed into a lecture hall for events and public programs. The pavilion also includes a rental facility for equipment and an expanded restroom area, providing essential amenities for park visitors.
The pavilion’s concept embodies the intersection of the city’s Soviet heritage and its core industry — coal mining. The industrial image is refined into a pure, metallic facade, suggesting a future where industry evolves through technology and automation. At the center of the composition is a portico referencing Stalinist Empire style, which defines much of the city’s historic architecture from the period of its foundation. The coal-black color emphasizes the entrance while anchoring the building in its local identity and industrial context.
