In our romantic imagination, the forest is a place of retreat — a landscape for escaping the city, walking along winding paths, and breathing fresh air in solitude with nature. Yet for the modern visitor accustomed to comfort, the wild environment can often feel unwelcoming. Alongside its beauty, it also brings insects, damp shaded trails, and dense thorny vegetation.
The “Lesom” project offers an alternative way of experiencing the forest. Moving from tree to tree, it elevates the visitor through the ancient woodland toward the canopy, leaving behind the more hostile aspects of the wild environment.
A long timber ramp, approximately 36 meters in length and echoing the winding lines of forest paths, leads to a treehouse with a terrace and a firepit area, offering expansive views of the sunset. The installation was created as part of the “Drevolyutsiya” festival in 2018.
