Zaklinskoe rural settlement takes pride in the fact that its picturesque natural landscape was chosen by the pioneer of color photography, Sergey Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorsky, for his work. This symbolism is even reflected in the settlement’s coat of arms.

Therefore, the central theme of the new square is the art of photography. Along the main pedestrian route, a series of information panels forms a timeline — from the earliest attempts to capture images using light in the camera obscura, to the role of photography in contemporary everyday life.

The central element is an art object in the form of an unfolded film strip, where visitors can position themselves within the frames and take commemorative photographs.
